For the first time, a District Para Sports Association has been formed under the auspices of PUNARBASA, an organization working for therapy services and the empowerment of persons with disabilities. Biraja Routray, Founder of PUNARBASA, has been appointed as the Chief Advisor. District Sports Officer Loknath Panigrahi has been appointed as Advisor, while District Social Security Officers Sangram Keshari Behura and Prabhas Chandra Das have been appointed as Vice-Presidents of the newly formed District Para Sports Association.

Similarly, senior lawyer Sushri Nayak has been appointed as President, Vinod Singh as Vice-President, Lalatendu Panda as Secretary, Sek Shaukat as Joint Secretary, Samarendra Chaudhary as Co-Secretary, and Sarojkant Sahoo as Treasurer. They were unanimously elected to the Executive Committee.

Para sports veterans Prashant Nayak, Balaram Garbha, and Monali Gayan, along with sports enthusiast Suhana Parmin and senior rehabilitation worker Bansidhar Mahari, have been elected as members. Swapnanshu Das, Jyotirmoy Das, Bharat Sahu, Arun Behera, Mohammad Zahid Khan, Trilochan Pradhan, Amiya Vishal, Pratap Khayan, advocates Sanjay Jena and Khirod Kar were present on the occasion.

On this occasion, Paralympic athlete Monali Swain, who recently won a silver medal in the combined category at the National-Level Para Sailing Competition held in Chennai, was felicitated.
